If state Rep. Courtney Combs has his way, Sunday would be the last time Ohioans would have to move their clocks ahead for daylight saving time.
“It is time to retire this World War I-era antique” said Combs, a Hamilton Republican who introduced legislation in Columbus on Friday to drop daylight saving time.
“In my house I have 14 clocks and every six months, I have to go change each one,” said Combs.
Some area business groups say wait a second. If Ohio unilaterally dropped DST and neighboring states such as Kentucky and Indiana didn’t, it would create huge economic costs, particularly in border areas like Cincinnati, where people daily cross state lines to live or work.
