AT&T: The telecommunications company said it has invested more than $1.5 billion in improving Ohio wireless and wireline networks between 2010 and 2012.

The focus has been on improving 4G LTE mobile Internet coverage and enhancing the performance of the overall network.

The company said it has made nearly 1,750 wireless network upgrades in six key categories in Ohio during 2012.

"Broadband access is a priority we often hear about as we travel around the state, no matter the location, because it is such a powerful driver for economic development," said Senate President Keith Faber (R-Celina). "This investment by AT&T to expand its mobile Internet network will help more people and businesses stay connected in today's fast-moving technological world."

Speaker Bill Batchelder (R-Medina) said, "Access to the latest technologies via mobile Internet is a critical economic driver for businesses and consumers to remain competitive."
